Postcard Motor car ORCHESTRION
Product detailed description
Motor car M152, which was redesignated the 810 series in 1988. A car of many contradictions. Popular and damn at the same time. The car has many nicknames such as Greenhouse (windows everywhere), Bus (the fronts of the cabinets and side windows resemble Karosa Š11 buses, they also have the same LIAZ engine and Praga gearbox), Suitcase (according to shape), RegioMouse (name from Czech Railways), Šukafon (rattle car while driving) and we better not go any further…
We cannot deny him one thing, as Hurvínek's successor, who was produced after the war, definitely controlled the local lines. The orchestrion is at home in Vagónka Studénka, which produced the first prototype in 1970. In the years 1973 - 1984, Vagónka sent a respectable 680 cars on the local tracks.
What did the passengers appreciate? Automatically closing doors. On the other hand, what did the driver appreciate? A separate workplace that was separated by a wall from the passengers.
One of the unpleasant features was the internal combustion engine, which was cooled by water, which was of course a problem in the cold. He either had to be under the roof or he had to drown. He had and will always have a lot of pros and cons and a lot of fans and opponents.
The ORCHESTRION car for Lokomotif was painted by Martin Přikryl alias Matys.
